Definition: A condition associated with inadequate tear production and marked by redness of the conjunctiva, by itching and burning of the eye, and usually by filaments of desquamated epithelial cells adhering to the cornea. |

self-care: o Try artificial tears, drops or ointment o Don't smoke, avoid second-hand smoke o Avoid direct wind, and air conditioning o Use a humidifier, especially in the winter o Purposefully blink more often, est your eyes |
