causes of nausea: o Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism o Appendicitis o Depression o Diabetes o Flu o Food Poisoning o Gastroenteritis (Stomach Flu) o Viral Hepatitis o Gastroparesis ( e.g. in diabetes) o Medications o Motion sickness or Seasickness o Heart Attack o Pancreatitis o Peptic Ulcer: An ulcer in the wall of the stomach or duodenum resulting from the digestive action of the gastric acid on the mucous membrane. o Vestibular Balance Disorders o Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Gastroesophageal reflux disease occurs when the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) does not close properly and stomach contents leak back, or reflux, into the esophagus causing heartburn or histopathologic changes in the esophagus.

accompanied by: o Vomiting longer than 24 hours o Bloody vomit o Bile in vomit o Severe abdominal pain o Headache and stiff neck o Dehydration signs: Increased thirst, Infrequent urination or dark yellow urine, Dry mouth, Loss of normal skin elasticity (if you touch or squeeze the skin, it doesn't bounce back the way it usually does). |
