Definition: A trembling or shaking usually from physical weakness, emotional stress, or disease. There are three types of tremors: o Resting or static tremors ( Tremor at rest) o Intention tremors (Tremor that starts with moving, and stops at rest) o Postural tremors ( Tremor when a body part is in a particular position for a period of time. |

Common
causes of tremor: o Normal aging o Too much coffee or other caffeinated drink o Stress, anxiety, or fatigue ,these can cause a postural tremor. o Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism o Low blood sugar o Hyperthyroidism o Parkinson's Disease: This is the classic cause of a resting tremor and is often accompanied by slowness of movement, muscle rigidity, and an abnormal gait. o Medications that can cause tremor: Mood stabilizers such as lithium carbonate, Bronchodilators such as theophylline and Alupent, Anticonvulsants such as valproic acid and Depakote, Immunosuppressants such as cyclosporine

accompanied by: o The tremor is worse at rest and gets better with movement o Prolonged or severe tremor o Headache, weakness, abnormal tongue motion o Involuntary movements |
